Just got the go ahead to implement this Living Room in a Barn Conversion located in Lamberhurst, outside Tunbridge Wells. The clients have already gone with a pretty strong modern direction in the kitchen so the Living Room has to flow with it! Of course we’ll be mixing up different ears in the design to respect the old and the new parts of the Barn too.
Concept for Living Room:
The concept depicts a modernist vibe whilst natural shades and bright pops of colour provides a nod to the 70’s cool & eclectic style. Mid Century iconic pieces and strong architectural lines juxtapose the softness of curved organic shapes and layers of textures for that calm & cosy feel.
Colour scheme & finishes:
Layers of neutral shades provide a calm backdrop to vibrant accent colours of green and plum to complement artwork plus teal blue and mustard accents feature throughout in either soft-furnishings & accessories.
Finishes will include fluted wood for organic feel in furniture, soft sheers for window dressing and matt gold or brass for any metal finishes.
Draft layouts:
The layout must be zoned in terms of clear task-related actions to ensure full utilisation of the space. So a few draft layouts were presented for the client to choose for preference. It includes a social area which with a Bar & Piano and a chill-out zone for all the family on movie nights!
