“What a joy it is to work with Justine and her team at Barker design. Having set up our business 15 years ago in the upstairs of a small converted barn our focus on the business has meant that lick of magnolia paint and cheap carpet that was a temporary fix to get us started evolved into piles of paper and computer wires and, to be frank, quite a depressing space to work in.
This is when Justine steps in. We knew we wanted a practical, bright and light space that we could bring clients to and that reflected the colours and design styles that we like to live in but where to begin? From the start the design team just looked, listened and measured! The style direction gave us a clear guide to where the design would go but this was just the beginning. The attention to detail is incredible – detailed drawings for the bathroom space and kitchen area, layouts for upstairs office space and downstairs space and don’t forget the specification for the largest desk ever designed for Conrad were meticulous and gave us complete confidence in the design.
You can imagine our excitement as the designs became reality as the contractors worked to a really high standard and bought the designs to life. Their meticulous attention to detail and craftsmanship is at such a high level there were no issues in creating the designs that were specified. The outcome is a beautiful space where there is so much tailored storage, there is nothing on the floor and with clever cabling systems no wires to see.
Clients have commented on how calm and light the space is and it reflects the quality of the service we offer them. We have never worked so hard in such a challenging market but with the calmness and organisation that this new space gives us, we are certainly more productive and efficient than we have ever been – and enjoy going to work all that bit more.
